I am disappointed by her attempts to humanize herself, but she still recognizes that what she did was wrong and promises not to do it again. Whether she holds her promise is a topic for another day, but her attempts to contextualize her actions are still supported with a promise for change and growth. |
I have no doubt that she won't do it again. That would be career suicide (well, probably not). What I doubt, given her non-apology, is her sincerity. That means I can't trust the integrity of her work. I see nothing that would indicate to me that she is a different person now, only that she intends to be less obvious about it. As I said before, I don't care if she is fired or not, but a journalist I can't trust is a journalist that holds no value for me. That, in turn, goes double for an organization that doesn't appear to respect me.
As a consumer, it's not my responsibility to give businesses the benefit of the doubt, it's their job to convince me that they are my best option. In this case, there is no way I can believe that.
