Forums - Gaming - Hitman, the game, the movie

One of the first game i purchased for 360 was Hitman.

Never really got into it and sold it.  I see that it did not sell very well.

If you have played the game, do you recommend it?

Just watched the movie - never saw it in the theaters cause most movies based on games suck.

But I gotta tell you that the movie was awesome - probably the best movie based on games.

Very smart, good story, above average acting, little nudity, some blood, but overall a great film

If you have not seen it - go see it!  it's a must watch.

Hitman Blood Money was one of my top favorite games on Ps2, its a change from all the other mindless shooters. This one gives you the ability to upgrade your weapons which is always fun, and this game has a system where if you go into a level guns blazing witnesses will give your description in the newspaper so when you start the next mission someone might recognise you and call for help. I LOVED this game but its not for everyone so I dont recommend you to buy it just because you liked the movie, its not too long of a game so I say rent it.

I must respectfully disagree about the movie; it was the first film I've seen in a very long time that I had to stop watching after about half an hour.

I haven't had much exposure to the games, but they seem fairly well-produced.

^^sorry you didn't enjoy it. what didn't you like about it?
i guess i might have loved the movie cause i really wasn't expecting anything good.

I'm thinking about getting the game. I could probably get a used one for about $10

Everything seemed... mechanical, I guess. The dialogue was perfunctory, the acting was stilted, the plot was cliched. I thought the "violent" scenes were poorly designed as well, such as when the guy's arm gets chopped off; the style seemed inconsistent with the rest of the film and looked cheesy. I just didn't enjoy the art direction or the script in general.

Not that this is relevant, but are there soldiers in the game that look like they do in the movie? They seemed more reminiscent of the Killzone enemies.

I do admit it didn't have it's own style.
There was little of Bond, some Blood Diamond, a lot of Bourne,
I thought it worked very well.

Though I highly doubt there will be a sequel.

Loved the movie and I keep watching it over and over again, would love to see a sequel.

Loved the games too.

“If any creator has not played Mario, then they’re probably not a good creator. That’s something I can say with 100 percent confidence. Mario is, for game creators, the development bible.

Honestly, I think it was far worse than all of those movies.

The acting was quite well done, actually, which is why the picture seemed passable.

However, it had several "suspension of disbelief" moments, and I mean SEVERAL.

I can go into more detail, but imo, this was a very mediocre picture, about the level of Resident Evil the movie, or worse.

Definately less appealing than the slightly above average recent video game movie, Silent Hill.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

ive played through all the hitman games(except the first one) multiple times

the series is my absolute favorite in stealth genre cause it gives you the thrill of a kill

figuring out how to take out a target without making extra kills or alarming the guards is challenging as well as immensely rewarding and some of the solutions are nothing less than genius.

i can whole-heartedly recommend any of the games of the series, especially blood money

the movie, i thought, didnt do justice to the cinematic potential though. theres still room for a better movie(with someone else as 47).

A better cult movie that should have been a videogame before it was released, and is along the same vein as Hitman is, Equilibrium. Fantastic movie. If you liked Hitman, you will fall in love and die for Equilibrium.

So, rent it. :P
