Forums - Sales - Nintendo Korea Date and Price Wii: April 29, 220,000 KRW ($225 USD)

That's earlier than I expected... I wonder where all the stockpiling naysayers are now? Obviously Nintendo has been stockpiling for this launch (along with other events).

How many are you expecting them to sell? Korea isn't a very big market for home consoles, and shops have been selling Japanese Wiis since launch. I doubt they'll sell 100,000 first month. I really don't see Korean launch Wiis being a significant amount of their 1.8m/month production.

Edit: lol,  same expectation as above

It's just that some people were saying "stockpiling for the Chinese/Korean launch already? you're crazy".

In any case, anyone who ran the numbers knows they must be stockpiling a significant amount of their production, because the sales numbers aren't up there, and as far as I know stores aren't exactly drowning in Wii supply.

My Mario Kart Wii friend code: 2707-1866-0957

Stockpiling must be for the holidays, how else can they sustain the 4m+ consoles needed to satisfy the christmas demand? they sell 3 months of production in 1 month, they have to stockpile 300k of consoles every month to satisfy the extra demand....

PSN ID: T_Gears

End of 2009 ltd sales:

Wii = 67-68m

X360 = 38-39m

PS3 = 34-35m

Prediction: The PS3 will surpass the 360 on weekly sales after it drops to $299 on all regular weeks (no big releases).

BTW, it is RRR2 and not RRR.
