So another of those cases of MS muddling waters to pretend it is something only on Xbox (like they done for Persona and a few others) and letting devs later confirm it is multiplat? |
Like what Sony did in the last SoP? I don't recall seeing anything but PS5/PS4 logos at the end of every game announcement even though most of them were multiplat. Let's not pretend that every platform holder doesn't do this practice when it's during their own showcase. Nothing wrong with it either. Just lets fans of that platform know that a game is coming to the platform. |
The difference is Sony has their logos for the SoP but does not restrict publishers from announcing the full platform list afterwards. (SF6 as an example, Capcom was able to announce the platforms right afterwards)
MS in this case is embargoing publishers for announcing the other platforms for 48 hours thereby attempting to confuse consumers of platform availability. ( Wo Long and Persona)
Furthermore, when it comes to timed exclusives Sony is very pro-consumer as they will often give the exclusivity time in their trailers, Forspoken, Deathloop, Ghostwire Tokyo etc. MS does indeed muddy the waters when it comes to both instances as in the case "Valheim" was just announced at the extended showcase as a "Console launch exclusive". There's no date given at all as to how long that period of console exclusivity is but it doesn't stop the inaccurate reporting on Twitter that it is full on console exclusive with no time period.
The difference is when Sony does something anti consumer everyone piles on them for it but when MS does it, a lot of people close their eyes and ignore it because they're desperate for Xbox/GamePass to have any type of W over Sony.
