Santa Monica just posted about available positions at the studio. This honestly seems like too many open Senior level positions for a game that's supposed to be releasing this year :(

You can go to their website and see that almost all of their job openings specify it's for an unannounced title.  The few that don't are more general positions, and don't specify any game.

God of War development has been winding down. There have been a number of animators leaving Santa Monica Studios and they are not hiring replacements at this time, in other words they are leaving because their work is done.

I would certainly prefer if they could keep these guys for the other IP or even circle them to other teams of Sony even if home office work. As we hear often talent on this industry have been pretty scarce.

As others have said, Sony significantly expanded their internal teams before the launch of the PS5: Santa Monica, Naughty Dog, Guerrilla Games, Insomniac Games, Firesprite & Bungie have multiple projects in the works.

Sony has built a support studio in Malaysia, as well as acquire smaller teams like Valkyrie and Fabrik, to make first party development more efficient. They even have a dedicated PC studio in Nixxes to focus on ports. PlayStation is ahead of the industry when it comes to internal engines/support pipelines/studio collaboration which will pay massive dividends by the end of this generation.

Jason Schreier, among a few employees at Santa Monica, essentially confirmed that God of War is coming out this year.

And they have confirmed several times because almost every week there is a "leak", "rumor", FOD, BS, etc saying it is already certain it have been delayed but the heads haven't had guts to tell players.

PS+ Premium will likely have them =p

Kinda interested in that but need more details on what type of games will be available.

Hopefully they wont drip style release them like Nintendo does with their monthly offerings.

I hope that for PS1+2+3+P they have a very big initial availability and keep adding without removal. But who knows.

I wonder if Warner Brothers decision to cut the last gen version of Gotham Knights was in part due to the significant improvement of PS5 stock. They wouldn't need to worry about a shortages impacting their sales, and their game would stand out from the rest of the market, as one of the few current generation only titles.

Add Dead Space remake to the list of games I want to play when I finally get a PS5.

I'll get a PS5 after FFXVI comes out - hopefully there will be some good deals for the older games by that time.

I would hope so too. I'm prioritizing HFW & GOW this year and waiting for a sale for everything else lol.

I still need to play the first game for each of those series lol - got Horizon 1 for both PS4 and PC and GOW on PS4 (planning to double dip on God of War on PC too).

Demon's Souls and Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart I hope I can get them on sale when I get my future PS5.

Quite a few PS5 games were $20 off just a couple weeks ago, so you should definitely be in luck for lower prices by the time you're able to get your PS5. I picked up Ratchet and Clank when it was on sale and working on that Platinum :) which is one of the easiest Platinum's to get too but I do not mind at all because the game is that good in story, action, and graphics! It's pure eye candy also the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers for this game are insane!

I'm debating on whether to get Returnal or Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut after that. I can only work on one game at a time lol.

Uncharted I'll get on PC.

Not to set any expectations but damn.. You guys are in for a treat with GoW. Its such an amazing game, can't stress that enough.

With Ragnarok coming there hasn't been a better time to play it.
