formula for the time dilation effect that shows that the passage of time does change as an object approaches the speed of light, but also pretty much proves that traveling backwards in time as impossible. Before I had actually been shown the logic through which this formula had been developed, I thought that time travel in any direction based on velocity was an utterly retarded concept, but after I saw it, everything just clicked and made so much more sense.
