I stand by this, by today's standards, nes,64,gamecube should not be ahead of the PS4.

Ahh yes nostaliga, and buy ranking it for what it did for its time.
But if you rank them by todays standards, the NES should be waaaaay below the PS4.

How many old NES games do you want to go back and play today? maybe (and im being generous here) theres a handfull of games.
And realistically you might go on perfectly content never to touch a nes game again (their age shows).

In that sense I think nes is way overrated in this ranking.
With the SNES (i love the charm of certain rpgs from this era) Id agree it can be ranked high, but the NES? no.

I love it when someone tries to state his opinion as a widely accepted fact. Its great.

Not even naming Massively praised games like: Dragon warrior, Punch out!!, Final fantasy, Excite bike, Zelda 2, Goonies 2, Metal gear, Adventure Island, Startropics, Tetris, Double dragon 3, Chip n dale, Mario bros and a boy and his blob. 

Get off your high horse. Im anticipating all the games you put on there except TLOU 2 and Ghost of Tsushima but none of those have released yet except God of war and DQ 11 in Japan for all you know Kingdom hearts 3 will be a big steaming pile of shit and the New spiderman will play like the amazing spiderman 2 sure the odds are very much against that and im fucking estatic for both those games to release but even im sane enough to understand that they wont become fucking classics like that. A classic isnt an old game that became shit but is only good with ´nostalgia goggles´ on its a fantastic game that remained fantastic.

The next forum poster undone the PS4's numbers because of it. So now the numbers are off.

I just checked through the past 3 pages, and all of the votes have carried properly since my correction.  As of Mcube's most recent vote, nothing is off.  My "-" PS4 from 12 to 11 was cancelled out by your vote which returned it to 12.  Since then, there have been 2 more "-" PS4 votes cast which bring the PS4 to it's current position of 10 (as of Mcube's vote) from about 20 minutes ago.

Well, if anyone ask me about, I would say that the new games are far more enjoyable than the old ones, but it is normal, it's just the natural evolution of the industry, specially a industry that relies a lot on technology.

The only true exception, in my point of view, goes to SNES. It's incredible how SNES aged so well. I usually turn off my modern devices just to play DKC 1, 2 and 3, Zelda A Link to the Past, Super Mario World, and many other games, and I play again and again and it never fells old or obsolete.

However, I think we can't consider just how the games of these old devices are in comparison to the modern games. We need to consider how was the impact of that device and it's library in your own time and, in that case, problably no other console had such importance as the NES. The Atari 2600 was huge, but it was mainly in the US, and we can't analyse the history of gaming only by the US perception. If Atari 2600 was sucessfull in US, the NES was the first worldwide phenomenon in terms of home console, and I think it's far more important.

But, my vote will go to the SNES, because of fellings.
