Forums - PC Discussion - So I purchased an Oculus Go

After the PSVR made me a believer in VR as the future of gaming and entertainment, I jumped on the chance to purchase an Oculus Go. For about $200, I figured "What do I have to lose?"

I don't really have much more to say. It arrives on Monday. I can't wait!

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

So much porn.

You know me all too well...

So, for those who have used both, how does the Go compare to the Rift?

The only real downside is that there's no charger included ... (Kinda like the NEW 3DSXL,lol)

I just looked at my order. It says a charger is included. Not sure if there's different versions.

What's included in the box?

A: Oculus Go headset, Controller, Power Adapter, AA Battery, Eyeglass Spacer

I just received it today !!

Now, I only need to try some Apps and I'll be able to give my impressions later.

Hub space is pretty neat though (impressive since I never tried VR too !)

Have you tried porn yet?

I have. It was awesome.

On PSVR, I had to find the content, download it with my PC, transfer it to a USB device, plug it into my PS4 and watch it on the media player. Then, realize that the perspective was way off and everyone was 20 feet tall and blurry. I mean REALLY blurry!

On Oculus Go, I just type in "VR Porn" and I watch it. It's much much sharper (still not HD) and everyone is the right size.

As a gaming device, I can't recommend it but when it comes to watching videos, browsing content like Facebook, and other practical stuff, I love it. Hopefully the novelty doesn't wear off.

Well, I did play some entertaining puzzle games, it's definitely not what I would call an incredible gaming experience but it certainly is more when you get into the VR headset instead of your typical phone app.

I watched a video of the top 20 games to play on the Go and some looked like I would enjoy them. Just haven't had the chance yet--plus I have the PSVR to fill that need.

My problem is that I don't really have a chance to explore it like I want to. Not until maybe next Tuesday. Damn job. 😠

Nice, that and Netflix in bed in Virtual 5.1 surround sound is the reason I'll be buying this. Netflix and films on the PSVR is epic but there's always the chance of drift and that backing on the headset makes it uncomfortable even to slump into the couch. This thing looks like the perfect bridge, glad to hear you are enjoying it. How's the battery life and does it get hot?

I haven't felt it get hot at all but battery life is like a cell phone or a Switch. Before you know it, half the charge is gone. Probably not even three hours before it's drained. It says not to charge it while in use but I can see myself using a battery bank for long VR sessions.
