Annoying arrogant manchildren.

That should be the name of their site.

Well, if their review was affected by other reviews, then I'd say their integrity has been compromised.

It depends what he was responding to. With that all he could mean is that other sites are too lenient with reviews which makes theirs look harsher, not necessarily that they did it purposefully because other sites gave the game a 10.

I still don't see it, still seems like he means that other sites are lenient which makes theirs look harsher.

He basically says it, "score inflation is a big problem." --- In other words, he is against "overinflated reviews" which ultimately affected this review.

I don't think he's saying that GoW's reviews are inflated, but all game reviews are inflated and that GC takes issues with that.

As in the average game review is a 74, so the average game review is inflated by 24 points.  As opposed to 50 being an average.

He's basically arguing that the bottom part of the scale is becoming meaningless, and using GoW's 75 as an example.

In other words, a 75 is a fantastic score that's well above what should be the average.

But they don't follow that logic. Their average score is 67 and not the 50, which isn't much lower than everyone else. They still overinflate a ton of games, just not the critical darlings it seems.

He's arguing against the norm and attempting to change the way about how people perceive game scores. The issue is no one else is giving number scores with that in mind, nor does anyone think the way they want. They're playing by a different standard and as a result, they're hurting the game's metascore.

If they wanted to maintain integrity, they would drop the number system altogether (not unlike Kotaku, though integrity isn't their strong suit). Instead, they're actively hurting games' scores because they don't like public perception of game scores, despite similarly giving over inflated scores to games that don't get very high MC scores. They're being disingenuous here, and they either need to change their scoring system or MC needs to remove them from the vet list.

Another 100/100:
Digital Fix: ''With an exceptional story, brilliant acting, superb controls and gorgeous level design, God of War is a masterpiece and is easily the best title on the platform to date, and possibly the generation.''

That latest review puts them 1 spot away from hitting 95 again. It would probably only take 1 more good review to get it back up.
