Anyway, if someone really experiences such problems just politely contact Sony support, if they hang up on you (!), take the device back to the shop and they will deal with this in a professional manner. And if it's the first week after purchase most retailers will just swap the console for a new unit.

If you just bought it, then why not return it to the store and grab a new one? Also, if you called Sony and told them it wouldn't work, I don't see why they didn't tell you they're going to send a box your way and ship it back in a week or two.

By the way, you do know that the PS3 is a gaming/multimedia machine and not a cheap knock-off of the George Foreman grill? That slot isn't big enough to accept any juicy ribeyes. lol (I kid, I kid)

its only there because i said i was qouting his entire posting history.

any sensible person would return it to the store. I've never heard of an electronics store that doesn't take back stuff for 14 days at least.
