The PS3 is a fine piece of hardware, imo.
The PS2 has severe technical problems. It's definately the most faulty piece of hardware Sony ever release, suffering from several problems, including DRE's, misalignment of the disc, scratching of the disc if console is moved during play, and eventual scratching of the disc on loading with circular rings around the center.
The PS1's that were released at, or withing a year after launch had a malfunction where the piece that held in place the laser on to the slider track could actually melt. This was fixed in later versions of the PS1.
The PSP launched and most consoles within a year after launch, had, or formed dead or "stuck" pixils.
The PS3 has been fine, besides several firmware issues that have popped up, and now this new error that 4 percent of consoles are getting. I haven't exierienced it, nor have I read enough about it to comment here.
Sony is NOT one of the "best consumer electronics developers" when it comes to dependability, cause what does that make Nintendo?
Anyway, Sony outsourced and outsources a lot of their stuff. Sometimes it's great, sometimes there are class action lawsuits. This includes TV's, CDplayers, DVDplayers, and Playstations.
However, again, the PS3 is a console done right.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
