that is real bad news

they have blown the off-line multiplayer if that's true
but that was the greatest charm of mario kart

I know! An 8.9!?! Mario Kart Wii is DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!!!!!!!!!!!!

/sarcasm

Around the Network

I'll pick it up once it goes platinum or equivalent :)

"Well, despite a few minor flaws - most notably the failure that is offline Battle mode - the sheer quality of this latest Mario Kart installment pretty much sits it right alongside the near-faultless SNES original."

That line right there is what secured my purchase of it.

Pretty good score coming from IGN

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

hmm, an 8.9. i thought it would receive a slightly higher score. then again i don't know; i'm not really a mariokart person to start off with

Around the Network

i don't care about that 8,9
the battle mode seems screwed up
Nintendo wants everyone to go online all of a sudden now

Read his post again. He isn't talking about the score, he's talking about framerate issues in the offline multiplayer.

8,9 is not bad

ign gave a

7,9 for MK DD
8,1 for MK 64
9,5 for MK CC (GBA)
9,5 for MK DS

''Hadouken!''

there are framerate issues? really?

i must be blind.

far more important than some framerate drops
is  that the battle tracks are only designed for 12 player online battles
the most hours I've played MK in my life, is probably with friends at home

he calls it a 'blend, boring experience'

but I must play it myself first to see how it really is
