Those are suited for kids that did it accidentally, and even those that did it intentionally, but their anger got the best of them, and they regretted doing the deed.
However, most of the times the trauma from taking a life is more destructive to a person than say being molested by an elder, having an abusive parent, or having a pedophile in the family. Although, the examples I provided could greatly provoke a person, in this case a child, to kill.
Usually, kids who are molested believe it's okay, or they believe they did something wrong, whereas with murder it's a widely known consensus that killing is wrong, and many psychologists tried to approach it in various ways, but the psyche is just never the same, and with kids showing no remorse after the fact, just as in this case, you aren't going to rehabilitate him.
