Forums - Gaming Discussion - THQ Nordic acquires Koch Media (Deep Silver)

Nordic has been fantastic since picking up the THQ name, this is only a good thing to me. I'm sure they wanted the whole of THQ during the sell, but I believe THQ had to auction off properties as part of the bankruptcy, no? Makes sense they're coming back around to finishing what they started.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

THQ is almost THQ again.

Yeah, my thought exactly as I read it.

3DS-FC: 4511-1768-7903 (Mii-Name: Mnementh), Nintendo-Network-ID: Mnementh, Switch: SW-7706-3819-9381 (Mnementh)

my greatest games: 2017, 2018, 2019

Predictions: Switch / Switch vs. XB1 in the US / Three Houses first quarter

I'm kind of surprised. I thought Koch Media was bigger than Nordic.

Impossible to gauge the impact of this yet. That being said, I hope it brings stability, finally, to all the developers and franchises that have been swapped around over the years.

This is actually pretty good news. Deep Silver weren't doing too much with their ip's anyway. I'm sure THQN will put them to work. I hope that new Dambusters game isn't a horror show like Homefront Revolution was.

Whatever happened to Dead Island 2 lol

4 years and counting

It was in Development Hell since TechLand was supposed to develop make it but decided to do Dying Light instead, they gave it to Yager in 2012 and then the year that it was supposed to launch Deep Silver pulled Yager from development and gave it to Sumo Digital in 2016 and they had to basically restart the development of the game all over again.

Yes basically a move for them to acquire all the THQ IPs, this tells me that they have big plans for Saints Row and Red Faction and them getting the Dead Island IP is pretty big as well. I think that they are in good hands since both Darksiders 3 and Biomutant look great.
