Forums - Nintendo - Switch sell through over 13 million

Did they already pass their Switch sales goal for the fiscal year? I think I recall it was 10 mil before they revised it to a higher number.

It was originally 10 million

They increased it to 14 million

They increased it again to 15 million

Its currently 12.13m for the fiscal year with one quarter remaining.

Thanks for the info! I think 14 mil is possible, though I dunno about 15 mil. If there was a big name game within these 3 months, I think it would have been more likely.

13.8 is still a possibility. Korea is known to be over 100k, the rest of Asia could easily add another 150-200k (barring China and India.I know it hasn't launched there yet.) Taiwan and Hong Kong were both launches so probably did decent numbers there. Also, they said "Over 13m", so it could be 13.2 or 3 without most of Asia and Latin America. I know nothing about sales volumes in Latin America but there are some big countries there and quite a few of them so again, 300k may be possible for the whole region. I just can't see much of a discrepancy between sold to consumers vs. shipped, seeing as it would literally only be the stock in transit. Past experience tells us there aren't too many sitting on store shelves for any length of time.

15m wont be that hard, it needs to ship 2.87 million this quarter.

Here are last years non-holiday quarters

Jan-March, 2.74m

April-June, 1.96m

July-Sept, 2.93m

Average-2.54m

Also remember that last year had significant shortages through Spring/Summer so these could have bigger with enough stock.

It doesnt need a mega seller this quarter to reach that, just enough stock along with a steady supply of small-medium sized releases.

So maybe Chartz isn't that wrong after all.

So is it only shipped? If that's the case, 15 mil seems possible as well.

They had it at 12.3m and adjusted it up 1.5 million which was probably a few 100k too much. Im thinking ~13.5m is where it needs to be.

Correct, 15m is what they hope to ship this fiscal year which would put total shipments at 17.74 million.

Not sure why this had to be a thread. At 14.86m shipped, it was pretty obvious that sell-through had to be above 13m, considering that Japan sells through everything that gets put into stores while North America has also yet to get its supply chain into normal shape. VGC's 13.8m figure sounds about right when everything not North America (defined as USA, Canada and Mexico here), Japan and Europe is factored in.

I made a thread because we had like 50 people on this site arguing about 14.86m being shipped or sold.
