Forums - Gaming Discussion - GDC rescinds Atari founder Nolan Bushnell’s Pioneer Award after #MeToo protests

Yeah i don't want to judge before we see more information. Besides being an indecent/disrespectful human being, did he ever assault or abuse women/men in any shape or form? I support anyone who has been abused and used the campaign, but there comes a point where we should separate rapists and criminals from people who may simply be bad people personally.

So what has he admitted? Wearing a suggestive shirt and naming projects after women?

He "admitted" to holding a board meeting inside a hot tub (big one) and they invited women from work.
So they showed up in bikinis and got to be in on the board meeting (with the guys in swimtrunks).

(this is from the Neogaf thread)

Afaik thats the "worst" of it.

Yeah, just that there are quotes from Bushnell where there was stated they put some pressure on female employees to get into the top or forced them in different ways. Some subtle changes and it suddenly sounds way worse.

So there are at least two versions of those stories, one that isn't that bad and just fits into the era and one that casts a poor light on Bushnell.
