Forums - Sales - Switch has sold over 600,000 units in Germany

Beating Wii sales in UK is a much higher bar than beating Wii sales in Germany or France.

Wii sold 1M in 9 months and 2M in 14 months. France and Germany haven't beat that yet either despite their bigger populations.

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/nintendos-wii-sells-over-one-million-units-in-just-nine-months-to-become-fastest-ever-selling-home-console-in-uk-history

But that's a point, Nintendo around last 5 years is not popular in UK like it is in other European countries.

3DS and WiiU are more popular in UK than in Germany assuming VGC's numbers are accurate.

UK is only market currently from big European countries where Switch is not best selling console ever or best selling Nintendo console.

That's because Nintendo wasn't as popular in EU countries as it was in UK (low bar). If Wii and DS had the same popularity in Germany as they had in the UK, they would have sold 32M instead of 18M. France would have done 26M like the UK but they only managed 22M.

WiiU/3DS aren't real Nintendo consoles like DS/Wii/Switch are. Disliking the WiiU isn't a sign that Nintendo is unpopular, it's a sign that Dumbtendo is unpopular and that the French have interesting tastes.

as for AC, in 13 years it only had one amazing selling game, it need to have more then that be mentioned in the same light as 3d mario. 3d mario is 65 million units sold vs 32 million for animal crossing, how can you out them in the same light, and they both have 6 game released, i'm not even counting  mario odyssey.

Seriously, you have no dea what you are talking about.

There are not 6 AC games, there are 4.

Of those 4 titles, 2 were on home consoles while 2 were on handhelds.

The 2 on home consoles sold like 3-4 million.

The 2 on handhelds sold over 11 million.

When AC can be played on the go, it does similar to 3D Mario.

2008 Wii Animal Crossing: City Folk 4.32 million [1](December 2013)

well we really haven't established this, like i said before mario had two 3d games selling over 20 million, on wii, so thats' not a fair comparison, if 2 smash games came out on wii, smash would have sold as much as mario galaxy, which are very close to each other in sales, then the wiiu, and 3ds comparison, the comparison is unfair, i guess, the only clear cut winner is GC is. as for AC, in 13 years it only had one amazing selling game, it need to have more then that be mentioned in the same light as 3d mario. 3d mario is 65 million units sold vs 32 million for animal crossing, how can you out them in the same light, and they both have 6 game released, i'm not even counting  mario odyssey.

Hang on, you are..... adding the sales of 2 games together...? That is literally NOT how it works! Seriously, to prove your point you are adding the sales of 2 entirely different entries together? That's extreme cherry picking! Like we already told you, on a like for like scenario smash will more often than not, outsell 3D Mario. As for Animal Crossing, as this is purely about sales then yes it is on a par with Mario. In probably all other metrics tho it isn't as important but this was specifically about  sales. Anyway, as someone has already said, this has gone way off-topic. If anyone wants to discuss it further i suppose i can make a post.

I'm not combining them but 3d mario and smash always get 1 title per generation, so you only 1 choice for each, and they keep on selling  that whole gen, mario glaxy 2 coming out only 2 years and some months after is gonna slow down sales for the first galaxy a bit.

Like i said, you have no idea what you are talking about.

Amiibo Festival & Happy Home Designer are spinoffs, not mainline titles.

There are 4 mainline titles, 2 on home consoles and 2 on handhelds.

The 2 on consoles sold 3-4 million.

The 2 on handhelds sold 11+ million.

When a mainline Animal Crossing can be played on the go, it sells similar to the best 3D Mario titles.

point remains 3d  mario is a much bigger franchise, mario can do similar numbers on home consoles, and handhelds, mario 64 ds is just a remake and it did 11 million i counted that in the 6 mario releases. it seems to me nintendo is struggling with AC, in 13 years only one game sales over 5 million, i just don't see how you can compare it to 3d mario.

No your point does not remain.

Nintendo is not struggling with AC whatsoever

"In 13 years only one has sold over 5 million"

Thats not how the world works, you cant just make up stupid arbitrary time lines like that.

The more accurate assessment is

"Both mainline portable titles did over 11 million and since Switch can be played as a portable than its safe to assume AC will continue to do over 11 million."

People on this site will like you more if you just admit when you are wrong instead of making up nonsense to save face.

i'm the one who is wrong? you were the one calling AC bigger then 3d mario, which is about the dumbest thing i heard. franchise only has 2 games over 5 million, and you call it bigger then 3d mario.

Like i said a couple times earlier read better.

I said the games are AS BIG or bigger.

The portable Animal Crossing games sell over 11 million while 3D Mario does about 12 million. They are essentially the same size.
