Forums - Microsoft - RROD? What are the chances.

No, I didn't get RROD, but I just wanted to know how to tell if my unit is a falcon or not.  Where would I find its manufactury date?

I believe you check the wattage.

175 watt is a falcon.

200 plus is the old model.

It's on the back of the console, i think. You'll see a "08/07" or whatever. That's the manufacture date.

Or, as Stickball pointed out, check the power supply. If you're over 200W, it's an old unit. If you're under 200W, it's a Falcon.

No HDMI automatically means no Falcon, too.

I got my console in October 07', it was a pro (without the bundled games) and had a picture of Gears of war on the back with an RP rating, so I didn't know how old it was, thanks guys!

Rocket - not quite. There were/are some HDMIs without Falcon's (remember, Elites had HDMI in April, but no Falcon).

HDMI is the quickest way of getting a "good" idea, but looking at lot # or the wattage on the power supply is the only way to 100% guarentee your getting a Falcon.

And for reference, in the history of VGC, no one has had a Falcon die, to my knowledge.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

i have a falcon right now, i live in the caribbean and as most should know i gets hot like a mutha here and that things running still running cool.

By Falcoln, do you mean a 360 that won't get the RROD?

You can get rrod come up by not having the plug in properly. If you mean the unrecoverable hardware fault that effects millions of Xbox360 consoles? That has dropped considerably. I would call it only a slight issue now, by the time the end of the year comes about it will be a non issue.

:)

Tease.

lets pray so.
