Forums - Nintendo - IGN plays Force Unleashed on Wii - and LOVE it! Fans rejoice!

Well there's also factors like competition. When does the game come out, September?

I think the 360 version will be bigger out the gate, but as casual Wii owners and SW non-gamer fans learn of this game they'll keep it's sells legs strong for a long time and easily pass the 360's sales. In fact this could be a big system seller for Wii.

I'm definitely picking this up if they nail the controls as well as the article says. Hell, I'll probably still pick it up even if they don't.

Does anyone else feel like there's been a lot of good info for the Wii lately? This, D:DoC, Deadly Creatures, MK, Boom Blox, Elebits 2, Soul Eater, Strong Bad, Sam & Max, de Blob, 2 new Treasure games, all the WiiWare stuff, whatever else I might be forgetting.

@ookaze: Jedi see things before they happen. You have to be one heck of a combatant to beat someone who can do that. If I could see everything that Fedor Emelianenko was going to do before he actually did them, I could defeat him. Well, maybe not Fedor, but most people. :)

Back on topic, the game does sound promising. I'm glad it seems to be more than a simple PS2/Wii port. I was all set for a negative or lukewarm article from IGN, but I guess there is hope. Still, I'll wait for the final word once the game is finished before making up my mind.

Don't forget Mario Super Sluggers.  Yes, tons of Wii news, especially with an ton of WiiWare announcements and more pouring in daily.   And I have a feeling this is just the tip of the iceberg.   I sense a lot of developers will soon begin to announce whatever they've been working on since they realized Wii would be a hit, 12-18 months ago.

It's stupid to want 1 to 1 saber fights in a game. You would have to be an expert to not be killed quickly.
I'm training with boken in my Aikido sessions, and with my low practice level, I could have killed anyone of the Jedi Knights in less than 5 seconds, to have an idea of how bad they are at fighting in the movies (and I mean in all 6 of them). The movies are modeled for a show, they show supposedly good fighters that, for example, take a stance for piercing, but actually swing, which is beyond stupid and suicidal (they would have lost their legs and hands then died quick if they were against me). So it impress people that don't know anything about using a sword, but that's about it.
A 1:1 saber combat won't even last 2 seconds most of the time in real life. Look at some chambara movies to know how quick someone proficient with a saber can kill you: it's a matter of tenth of seconds.

So really, in a game that is supposed to be fun, 1:1 saber combat, or any weapon of the same type, is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I've heard people ask for this since the Wii's launch, and always thought it was stupid, and the people asking for it actually don't know what they are asking for.
It would not be fun at all. There's a reason the games don't use that.
The same is true for tennis or anything actually. You don't have to master a sport to be good in a game, the goal is not to reproduce real life.

Congratulations, you just a secured a nomination for the ''pompous toolbag of the century'' award.

This is the kind of thing which would normally earn a warning... were it not so incredibly true.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Yep, looks like a purchase for me.

its a rent for me

Awesome! Glad to see this game has potential after so much time has passed. Look forward to more info about it.

sounds amazing fun in the same NMH mould - just fantastic action packed mindless fun from start to end where you can just pick up and complete over and over.

I want an online mode for this game though - imagine 12 - 16 player matches where everyone has the force push and ridiculous amounts of objects being thrown around with little or no idea whose throwing them, light sabers being thrown around and for once players with a gun are just cowering in the corner cos they are outmatched by the players using their bare hands and thinking my blasters no match for him - he's gonna throw a rubbish bin at me.
