it's disappointing what Fallout 3 is turning into: Oblivion with guns. They even are removing all the adult themes from the series, like child-killing, prostitution, drug addiction, etc... Bethesda is ruining another series, again.

I can understand the removal of child killing and that doesn't bother me much. That's a giant public scandal just waiting to happen and would get the game banned across much of Europe. But if they remove prostitution, drug addiction, and all the other crazy shit the Fallout world allowed you to do, the game is going to suck. It's that simple.

Not If, Todd Howard already confirmed that there will be no prostitution, sex themes, drug addiction, and the rest. Either Bethesda fears the rating boards, or they are trying to push Fallout 3 to Teen-Rated, just like what happened with Oblivion. They said that there only would be something about cannibalism, but it's probably just a line some NPC, or a quest atmost.

And even if the game would include child-killing, It would never get banned in Europe, except maybe Germany. The child-killing in Fallout 1&2 weren't mindless, if you did kill a child you would get shunned from society and be permanently viewed as an outcast. It's IMO softer than the mindless human mass murder from Halo 3, UT3, GTA IV, etc.

Fuck.

That's all I can say at this point.

Even after being warned by the OP, I read the links because I'm really bored. Here's some random comments:

IMO the character creation/intro sequence sounds interesting, and I'd like to see it in action.

Dogmeat, yay.

Even if the combat is handled from a third person or, even worse, first person view, it's still probably better than the completely unbalanced combat system from previous Fallout games. If the VATS combat system works with a degree of tactics and planning (ie. not typical console shooter crap), fine by me. BUT If the game devolves into Gears of Oblivion 2: The Shotgun Edition, someone will pay. Dearly.

If they take out the isometric view, fine. It isn't that vital to FO games anyway.

They're keeping the SPECIAL system in, so that's fine. Hopefully they won't dumb it down too much, like they did with the Elder Scroll series.

Just please, PLEASE don't turn Fallout 3 into a yet another boring, gray, humorless, piss-easy, static, repetitive testosterone-fest like GoW or Resistance. Just don't.

EDIT: Read shio's post.

Goddammit.

I just don't understand yet what will make you want to use the VATS, being able to aim freely...

Alright, time to go burn Bethesda to the ground. Who's with me? I'll drive.

I always keep two sets of pitchforks and torches in the back of my car just for occasions such as this.
