People were saying that only the PS3 was getting a DMC4 bundle, which ended up being a round-a-bout way of saying that if you wanted a PS3 and DMC4 you could only get it from Sony (which was a very sneaky way of stating the obvious and making it sound a whole lot more special than it really was).

It is quite possible this is the same thing.

I understand what I typed was a bit confusing.  Essentially what happened is there were rumours that the bundle was Sony exclusive and that is the picture that was painted.

Take what the GAF mod said with a grain of salt and await his providing of proof or confirmation from Rockstar/Microsoft that they won't have a bundle. 

Well, the only one of those that mentioned exclusivity was Joystiq, and their source was PS3Fanboy, who did not mention anything exclusivity at all. Even then, joystiq merely "assumed" it was exclusive.

Now compare this with the current situation. We have bundles for both versions of GTAIV popping up on websites all across Europe, yet the PS3 bundles involve a special PS3 package, where as the 360 bundles consist of a 360 Arcade with GTAIV separate. If there was an official 360 bundle on the way, they wouldn't be offering those, now would they?

Microsoft should show their bundle soon because most of the swedish sites have the special PS3 bundle.

well according to sales data it actually is, ps3 will surely be ahead in eu later this year then only NA left to overtake

this is the ps3`s 2nd year, the 360 has already had its second year - i mean i find it a bit odd really how well ps3 is doing without thier main games released, with even a higher price point and less # of availiable games the ps3 is still selling more consoles. once the 2nd year is over for ps3 we will se what the situation is worldwide.

Oh I don't know.  Were there any PS3 bundle deals over the last few weeks?  At the end of the day I guess my biggest gripe with the idea this bundle is exclusive is the fact that I just can't see Microsoft letting it happen that way, unless they have something big to counter it.

How long after GTAIV's launch is the bundle available?  Perhaps MS feels that the difference in launches is big enough not to have an impact? 

well, maybe this was sony's counter to the dlc, or maybe this bundle was confirmed a long time ago and microsoft used the dlc as a counter. so many ways you can look at it, but maybe microsoft can't do anything about it, that's why nothing has happened. this link pretty much confirms the bundle too:

See this is hilarious. What makes people think that Microsoft has the upper hand in gaming? You all are delusional right now. Sony may very well have always had this exclusive bundle deal, as soon as Microsoft secured the exclusive DLC deal.

You dont think Rockstar was talking to Sony about the offer for DLC as well? Sony and Microsoft know much more about each other and their plans than anyone here does. DLC may have been a counter for a bundle, or vice versa, but to think that Microsoft has control over GTAIV is ridiculous. The Xbox360 is not reliable yet, and their sales were abysmal up until August of last year, and then fell into last place as soon as the new year hit. They have no pull. Sure they can pay off some companies, but what makes you think Sony can't?

Sony is going to keep outselling the Xbox360 in all regions every week, except for maybe when price drops occur and Gears 2 week. Its almost like 2008 is a relaunching of the PS3, with its higher price being justified with features and software. 360 fans are in complete denial, but did anyone last year really think they would accept that no one really cares for the Xbox360 anymore? It was only ever attractive being equal to the PS3 in features for a cheaper price and better software.

Now with the PS3 having many more useful features, much better software, and having less of a price difference, why would a console such as the 360 which BARELY beat out the PS3 last year all of a sudden be able to pull ahead, or even keep up? As far as brand loyalty goes, that well will run dry in about a year. This year, at a lower price, there simply isn't a reason to choose a 360 over a PS3. But you all will see, GTA is less than a month away .

This reality check will be SO SO sweet. Even sweeter for me since I have been saying this would happen all along.
