5. Hint 1: Killing things with heavy metal music never felt so good. Depending on the character you play as you could have a full retinue of bodyguards following you around. For example in addition to the standard 8 bodyguards, if you are the leader, many groups of elite troops may also follow you around.

3 Hint 1: Who will fight the war? The students of course!
2 Hint 1: For a game, religion surprisingly makes an appearance at the forefront.

Super random guess time. Brütal Legend, Persona 5 and BioShock Infinite? (barely played any of these if at all, so it really is quite random)

Incorrect for all. Tis good because I want 5 to be easy and the rest to be difficult since its day 4 :).

Edit: and Persona 5 was my #32 this year.

From earlier previous unguessed games before my Internet went out.

10: Hint 1: Small state versus Empire.
Hint 2: Originally had 6 controllable characters and some guests.

10 is FFXII. A great game and truly deserving of its recent remaster, which seemed to add playable guest characters. Although the battle system isn't exactly button smashing engaging as I am used to with other games it is still quite fun to outsmart the ai with proper gambits. The story is very good and fun besides the characters that don't matter. I was personally hoping a FFXII-2 in Ivalice to explore Rozzaria as well. One of my fondest memories was exploring randomly through the countryside and happening upon an esper and fighting him to death.

9 Hint 1: The 3rd out of 4 games in this 3rd person action series to release for the PS2.

9 is Dynasty Warriors 4 but I would also include Dynasty Warriors 5. Both great games from the PS2 era. DW4 had the best duel system and better voice acting than most DW games. Every character still remained unique and the battles were still competitive and open ended. Only thing is that Gan Ning had lame vests instead of being a BA shirtless dude. Regardless his flaws made me appreciate some of the other characters as well so there is always a positive.

8 Hint 1: Possibly one of the most played PC games ever.

8 is League of Legends. What can I say, it might be the most toxic game in existence. But when you play with a friend and both are addicted to it then great things can come out of the game. Climbing to Platinum this year was quite fun. It only took 200 games which is quite few compared to other hardcore players, and I always think of the potential if I played this game instead of all these other games in my top 50. But I am glad that is not the case, and this game will remain as a short fond memory, unless I decide to join again solo. The best part? It was completely free, infinite worth.

Gonna go ahead and hint #2 as cryptically as I can (it is early, but I'm too eager!).

#2 - Your main goal is to defeat the villain.

(almost a joke of a hint, but... why do I feel someone will guess it?)

Breath of the Wild

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Skyward Sword

#4
This game takes place in a distant future where "humans" have wasted all food resources and have to rely on finding another planet with food as a last resort for survival. Don't worry, it's actually colorful and cute :D

Lol I was actually gonna say that too, but SS is more about saving Zelda than defeating evil.

Correct!

Nice.

It's not on my list, I'll make an honorable mention of it, but objectively it should be in anyone's list because it's such a monument.

Also, even with that wall of text-hint I still have no idea on that other game lol.

Not only is a monument, but in the pre-internet days it was kind of cliche to put it as #1 on the best games of all time.  Now almost no one really gets why it is so good.

I may just come out and say what my #3 game is.  It is probably the most obscure game in my top 10.  It was only a cult hit even back in its day.  Also those hints are probably as obvious as I can make it.  If people don't know the game, then they just don't know the game.

Yeah. When I played it to actually complete it for the first time, like, 4 or 5 years ago I wanted to completely do it the old-fashioned way. Just me, the real NES game, and the map and instruction booklet that came with it. No looking anything up or other modern things. In the end finishing it and figuring everything out by myself was so rewarding.

Ah! I thought you would've knocked Skyward Sword down a spot this for Breath of the Wild this year.
