This is the new RPG Maker game for the PC that was released in late February. I'm completely unfamiliar with the series, but would like to get into it. Anyone have any knowledge and have used it? If so it is user friendly or does it require a lot of knowledge going into it? I don't mind shelling out the $60 for the license but i'd like to know more about it in advance from people that have been there done that.

I used to have RM2k and RM2k3. I left it about when RPG maker XP was taking forever to be translated. Its very user friendly but for any kind of good game to be made, you need really good background in the coding it takes and graphics.

No one wants to be play a agame with the same sprites and anything that uses the basic system.

RMVX is easily the most user-friendly version, although that's to be expected since it's the newest. You don't have to have any prior knowledge due to the external simplicity of the program, but if you want to make anything other than a boring, extremely basic RPG, you'll have to have knowledge of programming languages and such, most notably RGSS2.
