I guess things have changed.  Recently, Nov has been just as big as Dec.  In fact, there were 1-2 years where Dec was down from Nov.  I did find a couple of exceptions in the past.  Like PS3 doing much better in Nov '12 than in Dec '12 and 360 doing the same in Nov '11 and Dec '11.
