It could happen. If you read that link it says the PS2 was the first console to do it, in 2003. The Wii was a phenomena that was a bit front-loaded(mostly Nintendo's fault). I'm sure PS4 could pull it off.

Reuters specifically mentioned the PS4 as one of the biggest sellers on Thanksgiving and Black Friday if that means anything. |
Noice.

It says PS2 did it in DEC 2003, not Nov. Wii is the only console to hit 2 million in a non December month.

Ah, yep. Thought you guys were talking about December for some reason. Could still happen - just very unlikely.

Unless things have changed, Nov is the largest shopping month of the year. It contains Black Friday, after all. December actually has an entire week where sales plummet, since holiday shopping is over.
My guess is Sony couldn't get enough stock for Nov, so those sales poured into Dec.

(that's what I thought too, but I wasn't willing to argue over something I wasn't sure about )

It may be an NPD thing: Cyber Monday has reportedly passed Black Friday, and it falls in December's NPD.

True. But, that is a recent thing. I actually think last year was the first time that happened. Either way, it definitely wasn't the case when the PS2 was out, or even the Wii.
