You wouldn’t know that looking at the recent financial reports on units sold.

Indeed, that's why NPD numbers are more useful. Switch is the new #1.

Globally in the US?

Since there are no official numbers from Sony (they don't break down shipments by region), estimates for NPD numbers are bound to be more accurate.

And that is why ALL console owners who are not 'leading' in sales wonder why the gap is so big. Around 64m PS4s have been sold, 20m of which are sold in the US. If you want to ignore where those other 44m are sold in order to make a point, then fair enough, but don't expect anyone to take it seriously.

Xbox is doing pretty good right now on Amazon.
I'm also glad to see the CoD WW2 PS4 bundle selling. It's a great game.

This is still the Amazon USA thread.

That clearly broadens the conversation beyond NPD even though you then go on to use NPD as some indicator (presumably related to the broader picture because it's in the same sentence) of WW success. Why else would you put it that way?

Now you're bringing it back to 'Amazon'?

This part of the conversation started here:

An estimate is more accurate than official numbers? (referring to Sony's recent shipment numbers of WW sales)

Damn never thought of that but WW Sony totally destroyed everything. Showing the rest of the World is where you win.

Well, that is essentially what people do. Sony fans would do the same as well given a similar situation, and I would point it out without hesitation. It's just that Sony fans have only really been in that situation once, and that was with the PS3.

Fans of a console selling better WW tend to look at WW numbers (the only legitimate figure to judge which console is selling better)
Fans of a console that are NOT selling better WW will select a region to gain a sense of winning.

So, inevitably, XB fans will concentrate on the US and Ninteno fans will concentrate on Japan, while Sony fans constantly tell both that it's WW sales that matter, reminding them both that Europe exists.

Lawlight tried to broaden the topic to worldwide sales and I brought it back to the USA. At the very beginning of this conversation tree is your post with a guess for November hardware sales in the USA. Lawlight took issue with you calling Switch the console that everyone is talking about and is selling the most, supplanting the PS4 as the fashionable console.

Fair enough, my mistake.
