Odyssey is the biggest Switch launch of the year, surpassing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. In fact, its first week boxed sales are stronger than any Wii U title's debut, too. The game also resulted in a 64% increase in Switch hardware sales week-on-week, which means the machine has now passed 300,000 console sales in the UK (sales figures supplied from retailers). Also, note that sales from the online UK Nintendo Store are not counted in these figures, so these numbers will have been higher than reported.

So AC Origins launch is under Syndicate? Pretty low for the "triumphant" comeback...

Interesting to notice Just Dance 2018 breakdown : 32% Wii and 31% Switch. Wii's mainstream audience seems to adopt Switch after skipping the WiiU. That might explain Switch's current momentum.

Around the Network

If the switch sales increased by 64% because of SMO in the UK it still isn't really that impressive imo, if we at least go by what VGC is reporting for switch here every week.

They always have the switch around the 6,000 mark so if you add 64% that's still under 10,000. It's a shame that the UK still hasn't taken to the Switch properly yet but hopefully after this with SMO the situation starts to improve somewhat.
