Forums - PC - Fallout MMO still alive, Interplay plans IP sequels

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=186499\

Interplay - which isn't dead - has re-confirmed its intention to pursue a Fallout MMO in addition to revealing plans to deliver Earthworm Jim, Dark Alliance, Descent, and MDK sequels.

"...management is working to secure funding for the development of a Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) based on the popular Fallout franchise. Interplay sold Fallout in 2007 while obtaining a license back, under certain conditions, to create and develop a Fallout MMOG", the company's said in an earnings press statement.

Bethesda now owns the Fallout IP, and is currently working on Fallout 3 (and if you didn't know that, where the hell have you been?). Interplay originally announced its intention to create a Fallout MMO back in 2004.

In addition to letting us know it's not let go of the MMO project, Interplay's said it plans to "leverage its portfolio of gaming properties by creating sequels to some of its most successful games, including Earthworm Jim, Dark Alliance, Descent, and MDK."

"The company has recently reinitiated its in-house game development studio, and is hiring game developers", it added. A new Interplay website is expected to launch soon.

While I'd love to see Interplay make a comeback I'm not going to hold my breath. If they bring back the Black Isle name Nostalgia might help them out.

They want to bring back Descent?! I'm giddy with the prospect! :D

The BuShA owns all!

Earthworm Jim and Descent! Win!

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
