Rumor: PS3's LittleBigPlanet Coming To PSP, Too

It looks like LittleBigPlanet may have an additional home outside of PS3.

According a new report by CVG, the title is currently being developed at Sony Studio Liverpool for PSP as well.

Sadly, no other details have been revealed yet.

However, it's certainly a safe bet that there will be some form of connectivity between the PlayStation 3 version and the PlayStation Portable one.

"We could see scope for transferable levels, or a level editor on the PSP that would allow you to keep working on your creations even when away from the PS3," conjectured CVG.

LittleBigPlanet is currently scheduled for release in September on the the next-gen console. However, Sony has been known to push things back on occasion.

I think this will be great if it's true. You could create a level 'on the move' and then transfer it to your PS3.

The more LBP the better!

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. I haven't been following this game. From what I gathered it seems like it is sock puppets doing puzzles. I don't understand its appeal to people and I've never asked. Can someone tell me why this is so hyped?

@pooper

it allows for fully customizable level designs that is really simple to use and u are able to get very creative with. it is part of that whole youtube of gaming idea

its a 2d platformer (yay) where the make the tools really easy to use. people can combine items and make entire levels from the tools given. its pretty much exactly how the term "user created content" should be used. its not hardcore like mods, but easy for everyone.

thankfully mediamolecule isn't developing it because i would hate to see the ps3 lbp delayed.

I hope there is some sort of connectivity between the PS3 and PSP. I'd enjoy making levels on the move then porting them to the PS3.

Cause it's publisher is Sony, why else? ;)

I also really want to play this game, like many others who have seen it. The only thing I question is how long will people play it. Cause based on it's information it will attract many people and an editor always helps to lengthen the life of the game, but how long will the majority stick to the game. That's the part I'm wondering about. I mean shooterfans can play COD4 all day long, but will you play a game like this all day long too?

I'm also very interested in the editor. If I have enough time, I will spend many hours in it building and developing. If there is this PSP - PS3 connection, it can really add some thing to the whole game. Especailly if you can buils your new levels, while you're on the move.

I'm definitely on the bandwagon for wanting to play LittleBigPlanet. The PSP version sounds like a great idea, though it'd more than likely be for creating levels on the go and transfering to the big black monolith. I'd be disappointed if they made it where the PSP version would unlock content for the bigger version that could only be obtained by having a PSP and copy of the game. I don't have a PSP and have no plans on getting one. Anyway, the limitless customization, promises of downloadable content to breathe life into it is what makes me hungry for it. It'd be nice if eventually you can add weapons like bows/guns/grenades to your characters, so you can make a cute Contra, Zelda or side-scrolling Metal Gear Sack!

All you touch and all you see is all your life will ever be.

Good to see that Sony keeps designing games across its platforms which compliment each other. At this rate even though I am more than happy with my ps3 I will probably buy a psp as it has plenty of functionality.
