Forums - General - With Your Powers Combined... I am Captain Planet! (in a cameo episode)

So my friend has been begging me to watch this show OK K.O. since maybe the end of July, and I pretty much always say I'm not interested. But today, I was finally roped in because to my suprise they brought Captain Planet and (objectively the best) Planeteer Kwame as well as the evil Dr. Blight in a cameo episode for a show called OK K.O. With their original voices no less (well except maybe Dr. Blight. Voice fits the part but sounds off).

Let me tell you this show runs deep through my nostalgic veins. Man, was this show just great. It ranged from traveling through time to kick Hitler's The Fuhrer's butt, dealing with drug addiction, to just every day saving the ecosystem. I felt it didn't tackle everything well, it mostly did.

Apparently this was known for weeks or something. Here's a clip of it.

The episode was a cool bit of nostalgia. Artstyle is very different but overall it was charming. I'll probably end up watching a couple of more episodes because the characters seem ok also I swear the voice of the K.O. is the voice of kid/teen Gohan.

EDIT: After reading the EPA thread, this episode spoke way more truth than I would have thought. wow.

Loved the show, but cannot bear to watch OK, KO. Even the song rattles my nerves.

I watched a couple of episodes and its definitely not so I understand, but I honestly ended up really liking it. It has certain 90's/00's references as well as more modern ones that ended up being funny enough. The opening theme and song were pretty catchy, I have to disagree with you there lol.

I like the original ironically. Made me laugh/chuckle a decent amount.

That was certainly one of the best episodes imo. Though laughing at it makes you look like skumm. lol

That being said, I would very much welcome a reboot/sequel to the series. Even if the cameo episode kind of wrapped it up nicely.
