 Yes thinking Gears of War was an average game makes me a fanboy.  Ha you don't know me bro, and your ignorance makes me laugh.  I just get pissed off when people put Gears of War on a pedastal for actually being something when really they should be putting other shooters such as Bioshock or COD4 or Metroid Prime 1 or at least something that was good there.  Gears of War isn't in the same classification of those shooters and every last person should find it disrespectful when its even included in that group.

I'm all for people having their own opinions but your a damn hypocrite if you put Gears and Bioshock on the same level.  Gears wouldn't deserve a bad rep if people would have stated it for what it really was.  An average run of the mill shooter.

 Epic put "years" of work into creating a gritty apocolyptic city(totally original ha).  They spent about a day writing the story, a week thinking up the gameplay, and a month to incoporate an online which was not fun.  If that's what hard work for a game is nowadays, then we really have hit the bottom.

Gears of War = not overrated.

Halo 3 = overrated.

Hell, Gears was a better game even though it was published a year earlier and was a relatively early gen game.

Zucas you can think whatever you want but Gears of War deserved every rating it received. The only thing that held it back was the short single player campaign, but the coop aspect and how everything was implemented made it epic.

No Zelda: TP was epic.  Oblivion was epic.  Bioshock was epic.  Gears of War was not epic.  There was nothing epic about it.  It only tried to fool people into being epic, but once ya actually get your hands on it there was nothing epic about it.  

I mean the game was an average game that'd I'd rate about an 8.0.  I've never said I absolutely hated the game.  I only absolutely hate that people are so willing to give this average run of a mill shooter amazing scores and then try to put it on the same level as games named above.  When in reality it was a pretty game with no substance and made it to be average because the setup of shooters was already good.

over 100 reviews from a combination of sites and magazines gave it that 94% on gamerakings, i guess their are a lot of insane people out there. C'mon gears was excellent !!!

Zucas, I hope you realize that your opinion of a game does not determine the quality of the game. You have every right to hate it. In no way does that make it a bad game.

I am sure you can find people who hate Zelda, SMG, SSBB, MGS, COD4, and Uncharted. It does not make all those games bad.

Zucas, man, you're doing it constantly. The "I'm not a fanboy, you don't know me, don't judge me, I laugh at you" is NOT a castiron argument. Nobody knows anybody, but I asure you, there are a hell of fanboys out there.
You seem to have a certain problem with Gears of War. I know a lot of people (like me) who play games for 15 years and they still think the game is a Masterpiece.
You, on the other side, are in every thread that just mentions the word Gears and you argue how average and overrated this game is. Respectable but peculiar....

 Don't forget that games ratings are often influenced by what's available on the market.  If it were released today it probably would not get a 94% average, but when it was released there was nothing out that could even come close to it, hence the scores.

Considering the tech, story, and greatness of Gears of War cost less than some Wii games......I think it's impressive...
