Forums - Gaming - Who found an snes classic today?

Kinda confused how you save games? A link to the past offers to save after you die, DK country doesn't seem to save at all. All 3 save games remain blank. You can save 4 suspend (and rewind) points per game after hitting reset, but I'm curious how you would normally save?

IDK - I bought them for my daughter's class party.

Quality control has really gone downhill in the last decade... you disappoint me

bought one today, no problem finding them as they don't seem all that rare (at least in Aus), local BigW had 60 in store and only about 30 people waiting to get them. These won't be anywhere near as rare as the NES classics, I think a lot of people that bought stacks to resell are going to get burnt over coming months.

I did not. I have two preorders from Amazon and have no idea when I will receive them.

Called my local Walmart and they already sold out 10 min after opening at like 12:10am. Then I went to check the status of like 7 online retailers, basically spamming the refresh button. Put an order in with Gamestop but by the time I clicked submit they were out. Soon after I was lucky enough to nab one at ThinkGeek online, but god knows when they'll actually ship it, judging from how quickly they sold out and how many orders they have to scramble to fullfill.. Expecting the worst, wouldn't be surprised if it takes a couple of weeks at least to devlier the thing to me.. Still it's nice to know I at least secured one.

Just read this. I was looking forward to the rewind feature and, if I see one I'll but it but he's right. Now, I don't feel so bad.

I didn't have a snes in my childhood, my parents bought an msx. I played link to the past for the first time yesterday and the rewind feature already came in handy. I haven't played any of the games but even if I did, the plug and play, 2 controllers, simple to setup and put away nature of the system makes it more than worth it.

It's a good experiment, do old games really hold up without nostalgia. For first impressions, Donky Kong Country, ace! Great game, although I have to unlearn to counter steer while landing. I guess modern platformers all have that slide/drift built in... Not used to the controls being so precise :)
A Link to the past starts great, played for 40 minutes, want to play more. Classic Zelda itch fulfilled.
Super Mario World, oh it's just like Mario Maker but a full game. Looks great.
F-Zero, pretty rough looking but fun, not as easy as it looks.

That's all I tried so far. Snes mini gets a 9/10 from me. Have to dock a point for short cables. (They had wireless controllers available but then I have to charge those again. I used a longer HDMI cable instead so the convenient reset aka save/rewind button is in reach)

Nah, only game in it I don't own is Star Fox 2.

I asked at two stores I happened to come by, and no dice. They did get more shipments compared to the NES mini, but still sold fast, and people camped for them too. Just... crazy~ Although, even if they had any I'd likely still not buy one.
