Anyway I dunno if it will. Some people were burnt by the first especially with the crazy expensive season pass that had most of the best content locked behind it.
Even though the second game improves greatly on the first we've seen that doesn't really matter this gen if the first game burnt players or left a bad taste.
We seen it with
Watch dogs - watch dogs 2
Assassin’s Creed unity - AC Syndicate
Titanfall - titanfall 2
Destiny - Destiny 2
Project cards - project Cars 2
And that's just off the top of my head. I've no doubt Battfront 2 will be a lot better then the first but I dunno if it will beat it.
Is there a new star wars movie out this year? That would help
Star Wars Battlefront II will be down over its first installment like most other games this generation

Yeah. The new movie is coming out in a couple of months.
Hard to say. Some of my friends are putting a "wait and see" approach because they feel they were burned by Battlefront 1. But it could happen. It is Star Wars and EA, after all.

Hard to say. The first one got a lot of flak, and this one doesn't have the advantage of releasing alongside a main SW film. it will sell well, though, just not as well as a CoD.

I'm one of those, I didn't even bothered to see the traillers. Not buying it. But I started playing BF again now that the season pass is free.
But being honest, most will buy it anyway. It has Star Wars on the name, it will sell like crazy and destroy the numbers of the original game. If it gets good reviews, something that seems likely, it's basically a given. Not sure about doing COD numbers, but it will perform well.
