Forums - Gaming - Bioshock 2 is awesome

Bioshock 1 is a one of the biggest masterpieces of gaming history, I feel bad for those unable to enjoy it.

The 2nd was good too, but not really on the same level, it doesn't hook you the same way despite the improvements, but still very good.

Infinite was maybe not as good from a gameplay perspective but holy shit, it was a hell of a ride with spectacular art direction and a really cool story, the gameplay was still fun btw, the hate it gets is really irrational imo.

I liked it more than the first and out of the three it definitely has the best gameplay. The online was a nice addition too. I wish Infinite had it.

Was it really?! I dunno why...I loved the first to bits but the second threw me off quite early in the game. The whole idea of being the big daddy didn't really catch me.

Should I give it another go?! Hmmm..too many games to play anyway.

I would definitely recommend giving it a another try; it does start slow, but it picks up significantly the further you go, I found.

I love it almost as much as the first game, and certainly waaaaaaaaaaaaay more than Infinite. I think it easily has the best gameplay in the series, it's got some great environments in Rapture (I especially like Ryan's Amusements), and while the story isn't quite as good as the first, I still think it's really good. I also really like the backstories of some of the characters, especially Alex the Great.

The game absolutely needs more love.

Did you kill or spare him? I found that a really hard choice, between the voice of his past (sane) self begging me too, and his insane mutant remains begging me to let him live.

First playthrough I killed him, because I wasn't paying much attention to the story that time, but on my second playthrough years later, when I paid way more attention and when I truly fell in love with the game, I spared him.

Agreed. Not quite as good as the first but certainly better than infinite.

I played all 3 and didn't really like them.

Wait a sec. You played Bioshock and didn't like it, then you decided to play Bio 2... and didn't like it either. And after that, you went and played Infinite?

Are you masochistic or what?

I played Bio 1 first and thought it was mediocre. Reminded me too much of prey and doom3. You know, walking through tiny corridors. Then I got my hands on infinity, but the gameplay was pretty boring. Just another 0815 first person shooter doing nothing new or interesting. Eventually I got my hands on Bioshock 2 and didn't bother finishing it. The gameplay and tasks where all the same. Go there, kill that big daddy, go there and kill that big daddy again, and again and again.

I got the games really cheap on steam. It's not like I didn't tried to enjoy them. But I can't find anything special about them.

Also, the twist in Bioshock was meh, because it's not like the game gave you an alternative choice.

But why bother with Bio 2 if you didn't enjoy the other two games?

Looks like is a new trend to hate on Bioshock for no reason lol Quite a shame honestly, it was a superb trilogy by every mean.

You can play as Big Daddy. Wanted to try it out.
