There's a demo you can try. Be warned, the announcer chick is very chatty in the demo but you can mute her in the full game or limit her speaking.
It's a fairly unique fighter. It has elements of Tekken as well as elements of Namco's 3D fighters. However, moves are pulled off kinda like Smash with buttons and directions rather than elaborate button inputs. It's a really solid game, imo. It feels distinct and the DX version has a healthy ammount of content.
In short, it takes inspiration from several areas but puts its own spin on them. The shifting from 2D to 3D is, imo, a pretty cool feature and the move sets have a lot of flair to them.
I would say give the demo a shot, just keep in mind it is limited in options.
