The thing we have to remember this is going to apply to many other games too. Pretty much all multiplatform games should be consider xbox one x console exclusive if they have these big differences.

Lol wut?

Would you want to play MGS5 or CODBO3 on ps3/360 when you have an xbox one or a ps4? Or bayonetta on ps3 when there is a 360 version. Difference this much means the game should be consider a console exclusive and the other version should be ignored.

That first comparison shot is hilariously misleading, however, due to the X's version lacking any DoF. If you look at the comparison with the PC running at 4k added, as well, the effect makes it and the Pro version look much blurrier than they actually are, and likely the X's IQ will become softer if they add the DoF effect into it. The X version will, of course, still look better, but the Pro's 4k cb isn't nearly as blurry in motion as it appears in that screenshot. Honestly, seeing the two makes me wish they would put an option to toggle the effect off for the Pro.

I noticed this, too. It's the second time I fell like I've seen something misleading regarding this game and the X1X (the first when they compared the Pro's 1080p enrichment mode vs the Xbox One X at full 4K native). No doubt, the system is more capable than the Pro of producing considerably better results, but when you're producing a blurry PC shot, you know there's something else going on.

That said, they still added additional textures missing from either of the two previous versions, seen here:

Absolutely, and the X version is certainly going to look better than the Pro version, but that screenshot is hilariously misrepresentative of what that difference is going to be. The Pro (and, obviously, the PC version) do not look nearly as blurry in motion as that screenshot may suggest. It's a shame, though, that the internet is going to run with that, when the improvements the x version actually displays are good on their own, and that people are going to think the pro version is a sham, when it really isn't. It's a very good looking pro enhancement, and that screenshot doesn't do it justice.

If you really think that rise of tomb raider on x1x has a generational leap that big when u compare it to the ps4 pro version, then idk what to tell u...

And bayonetta on the ps3 was a terrible port, tomb raider on ps4 is not...

Don't get me wrong, I like the hardware in the x1x and I think MS is making a really well thought out console but a statement like that is nonsense at best...

That...uh, that's quite an overstatement there.

Tomb Raider on ps4 is a bad port when you compare it to the one x. And that image is similar to me compare to this image.

4k textures is a big leap from hd textures.

But the blood is just missing effects which for all we know, could be patched in... The blood doesn't come from having 4k textures because pc has been able to run tomb raider at 4k since the day the game launched... And not to mention that apart from the extra blood and obviously higher resolution textures, the game doesn't look that much different than the ps4 pro version. Really for the most part, the difference is the texture resolution...

Compare that to the call of duty screen shot I just showed, the vehicle itself changed as well as most other things so I am not sure how the difference between 360 and xb1 is comparable to the difference between ps4 pro and x1x. Cause higher resolution textures don't make a van into a tank...

Although I feel like I already know where this conversation is headed so I feel like if I continue this, it will be a waste of time.

Well I can certainly see some improvement there, though it's difficult to tell just how much there is on my laptop. In my experience graphical differences become very apparent on my 4k TV as it's large enough to really take advantage of it, so I suspect youtube really isn't doing it justice for most of us.

It definitely seems to me like the Xbox 1 X is the ideal multiplat console going forward if you don't have yourself a nice PC, and I have to give Microsoft some credit for getting so many games to update for it from the start. Either way, I imagine Digital Foundry is going to become quite a battleground for fanboys going forward lol

Look how good looking the xbox one x version is, you can literally see each strand of hair on the head. While the ps4 pro version looks like a blob of black. Same with the teeth. The difference is night and day and you can't deny that. Xbox one x is the only legit version out of the consoles.
