Look guys, Digital Foundry mentioned that an emulator is an option to play Silent Hill 2, they must be massive pirates. Shame on them!!!!!! Those fucking "White Knight Pirates".

It seems like you're hoping this is justification... But it's moreso just speaking down of DF's ethics.

So you didn't say when you derailed the thread, 

"Emulation threads should be locked. Unless you own the game it's basically stealing."

"It enables stealing. Emulators should be illegal for the same reason locksmithing tools are illegal without a liscense."

Don't pretend you took a nuanced position here. 

It is a counterexample to the mantra "emulation is piracy" running rampant amongst the anti-PC gaming crowd, not a justification when presented alone, but it sure contributes to such. 

As for "speaking down of DF's ethics", according to what ethical standard? Please tell me the philosophy supporting such a position, other than "It is my opinion". 

I like how you bring up anti-PC, like it's only console gamers who hate PC who aren't cool with piracy.

I'll admit I didn't watch the video. Do they say to only do this should you own the game? Or do they encourage just downloading it?

In the video he said that there were some issues when running the game off a disc, so he ripped the ISO to play it. That is a counterexample to the statement "all people who emulate are actually pirates, and if they say they aren't they are lieing." 

The topic has always been about emulation of games that are still in circulation. Older games like Silent Hill 2 are fine. I took the same stance in the BotW thread.
