Fifa 18 on Switch is 1080p/60fps in docked mode and 720p/60fps in portable mode.

FIFA 18 will run at 60 frames per second on Switch in both docked and portable modes

FIFA 18 should be a smooth experience all around on Switch. In both docked and portable modes, the game will run at 60 frames per second.

Supervising producer Andrei Lazarescu also confirmed that FIFA 18 will feature a 1080p resolution when docked. In portable mode, the game is 720p.

Lazarescu said:

“We spent a lot of time actually understanding what the console is. In dock, what we’re seeing right now, for example, is 1080p run running at 60 frames per second. When you plug out and you play in handheld it’s 720p. We spent a lot of time making sure that transition happens seamlessly and you still get 60 frames per second.”

Is it based on the Frostbite 3 Engine ?

Hope it sells then. No reason to give the third parties reason to weasel out

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

No its not, its completely custom engine for Switch

Not into sports games, but I am glad that third parties are actually putting in the resources amd time to make quality ports.

How different to the ps4/xb1 versions does it look?

Does it matter as long as it looks good enough?

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Sounds pretty cool! Will be the first FIFA title I've bought in a while.

It's difficult to say based on the available videos and pictures. I'm pretty sure in tele broadcast view there won't be much difference, especially in handheld mode. The close-ups will defiantly not look as good as on PS4.

Theres differnces. But its hard to tell from these off screen, or low quality video captures ect. how big a differnce it really is.

But it being 1080p60 even if visuals are tuned down abit, is still pretty great news for Switch owners.
