Suprised no one mentioned Tomb Raider. Eidos took the Madden route with this game, although I never even liked or played the first one for long, so to me there was nothing great to be destroyed.

Ok I did my part, I bought No More Heroes, but they were out of Zach and Wiki.
Ok got Zach and Wiki, now if I could just finally finish Twilight Princess so I can play all these Wii games I got waiting. And no I won't buy Okami.
DNF, now there is a game that should have been scrapped completely. Reminds me of a kid whose been in school for 12 years and still doesn't know what he wants to do. At one point you just need to man up and get a job.
Castlevania, at least in the realm of the home console, is FUBAR. All of the handheld Symphony of the Night clones are still fantastic, even though they didn't stray too far from the original formula. Also, I feel the Mana series (Secret of Mana's successors) are just plain horrible.

Lots of series have been destroyed but none can compare to what CC did.
Many might disagree, but I'd nominate pretty much all EA Sports franchises. It's been diminishing returns to me ever since Madden '05, Tiger Woods '05 and NBA Street Vol. 2.

True, that's a very good point, it didn't really get destroyed, but I was still sad when I heard there might not be more^^; it's not like Mother 3 was a flop, I guess they just got tired of making them or something^^;

CC actually wasn't bad for a JRPG and there are a number of people who really like it.
The problem is that creating a worthy sequel for Chrono Trigger is a nigh-impossible task.
Er, the Mother series would be nice. (Ness, Lucas, etc.) Wish they didn't end it :'(.

I didn't say the plot twist was Zant taking off his helmet. Do you know what a plot twist is? Did you fall asleep in English class? The plot twist was the random appearance of Ganondorf, retard. He just magically appears out of nowhere near the end of the game without any prior mention.
Essentially, Zant was portrayed like an evil badass who would be the main villain of the game. Ganondorf is completely out of the picture, and they even explain why he isn't there. Then, you finally get to your showdown with Zant and wow "OMG MY GOOOODDDD AAAAA I LOVE YOU MY GOD MY GOD GANONDORF GAVE ME ALL THIS POWER I LOVE YOU WAAAAAAAAHAHAHAH! LINK, DIIIIIIEEEEEEEE" and then proceeds to fight like a complete bitch.
He went completely out of the character he was being built up into until that point.
Oh and speaking of Ganondorfs magical appearance, how about his magical unexplained disappearance act after you kill him in the middle of Hyrule field? Guess he just vanished into thin air there.
