Damn I was hoping for another Uwe Boll masterpiece :)

At least we know Bloom has lots of sword fighting experiance... thats about all he does...

Why is everyone so dissapointed? Am i the only one who loved his performance in LOTR and PotC?

I don't think it is a bad casting call at all. I mean if you look at the new PoPs, box art wise he could easily fit the role. I don't know if 40 mil is the right amount though...

Hi, this is Vince with Shamwow.

I don't think it really matters who they cast for this movie, as it would take a miracle for it to not suck.

I can't stand Orlando Bloom. He is so bad all the time...maybe he can redeem himself, but with Jerry Bruckheimer producing this movie, it is looking like one big crapfest, and I love the Prince of Persia franchise...

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Orlando Bloom isn't actually a bad actor. Everyone just seems to not like him for a role in PoP because he isn't Persian...lol ^_~

In all fairness, he looks 200% more persian than any of the actors in 300

Disregarding Orlando Bloom's acting ability or ethnicity, the fact that they get a major star and pay them major money means it won't be a cheap Uwe Boll disaster. Now let's just hope it's not a big budget bomb.

Apparently, the producers of this movie are trying to make money. Bloom is a big draw. Not only do I think this movie wont suck, I think it will be pretty good. Hell, Pirates was based on a Disneyland ride, and it was good. I'm actually interested, now!

You know who would have been awesome?

Christian Bale.

There aren't any A list persian actors that fit the role, lol.

So, since your stuck with a young white dude, might as well be the best young white dude you can find.

...and that my friends, is Christian Bale.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

PS: Orlando Bloom isn't terrible, he's just not personally a draw for me. Plenty of better and more charasmatic actors out there. I guess he COULD be considered the A list from a popularity perspective, but from an acting point of view, he's about a 5/10, which isnt' bad, considering Pacino and DeNiro are only 10's. Being half as good as them is somethign to be proud of.

Best actress? Well, Kathy Bates is a 10/10 off the top of my head. Dolores Claiborne. See it.
