Forums - Gaming - At what time do you buy a console?

Console Purchase Dates:
PS1 - 12/12/1998 - 3 Years after its release
PS2 - 12/12/2002 - 2 Years after its release
360 - 14/03/2006 - 4 Months after its release
PS3 - 10/01/2008 - 10 months after its release

Around the Network

PS2, GC, Wii all at launch. DS was at the launch of the DSLite.

Earlier than that I didn't buy systems myself and didn't really know much about what was out when.

I buy a console at the time when it's Sony.

Sony will prevail. My 60 gig says so.

PlayStation 3 Games:

- Rock Band
- Rock Band 2
- Soulcalibur IV
- LittleBigPlanet
- Guitar Hero: World Tour

PS3 - 3 months after launch
Xbox 360 - 1.6 years after launch
Wii - 1.1 years after launch

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.

OT: I get it when I can afford it or I just plain want it. (but can't afford it.)

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it
