Forums - Nintendo - AJ Pierzynski uses the DS to train his eyes for baseball

Is there nothing the DS can't do?

There was a reason White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski spent mornings at his locker in spring training playing with his Nintendo DS.

And, no, it wasn't training to beat self-proclaimed team ''Madden '08'' champion Matt Thornton.

Pierzynski has been working with a vision-training game on his handheld device with the hope of improving his ability to pick up the baseball. So far, the reviews are good: two home runs, a .529 batting average and a team-high seven RBI through four games.

''With his hand-eye coordination and ability to hit the ball the other way, he should be a big RBI guy,'' teammate Paul Konerko said.

Around the Network

He has a hot bat as of these past few games (I think he has been intentionally walked 2 times already also). NOW I KNOW WHY! (Konerko on the other hand... YUCK!)

He must be using "Flash Focus: Vision Training in Minutes a Day". It looks rather entertaining and educational at best.

It's $20US here in America, I'm thinking about doing the same thing. It must really work. The Brain Age games are helpful too. Good thing Nintendo made the DS, its a awesome handheld.

I have sight training and cna say it works. Despite the numerous problems with my eyes it helped them somewhat.
