Forums - Gaming - Bought new game - Help

Hey guys, I just bought a new game off of amazon.co.uk from select games, i recieved the game today and it has no plastic wrapping on and there's a mark where a sticker has been removed.

Im questioning weather it is actually a new game or not, i messaged them before asking this question and they told me it is new as i wasn't sure if i selected used by mistake, i also looked on my order on Amazon and it said condition new.

Is it normal that a new game doesn't have the plastic wrap on? and cant understand why there is a sticker mark on the case, almost like it had a price tag stuck on that was removed, i have messaged them again and just waiting for a response.

To a degree, I'd say just be happy you have the game. I once ordered a Gameboy Color and received a novel wrapped in inside out Christmas wrapping paper.

I don't know how you feel about GameStop but, at least in the past, it was pretty common for them to give you a "new" game that was opened and the case was on display. To me, that isn't new but I didn't have much choice back then.

@Bristow9091 I will see what they say when they email me back, do you order off Amazon much?

Well im in the UK, we have Game here who im not a big fan of, saying that i believe when i bought Breath Of The Wild that didn't have any plastic wrapping on either, but that was from Grainger Games.

Its in good condition and looks new, just the sticker mark at the top where its left a mark on the case from been pulled off.

Like d21 said before, it's usual for GameStop to do that, as they take the discs out and put the cases in display, even for new games. They are sometimes reduced and have price tags directly on them, so that might be the case there too.

I've had it once here in The Netherlands when a gameshop I ordered it from removed the plastic because the disc was "loose" in the case, the game also had DLC codes and they all worked and the disc and case where in good shape so I didn't complain.

If I felt like there was anything "less" like a damaged case or another indication I would have been upset but luckily this wasn't the case.

The game i bought was only £15 so maybe thats what happened, just wasnt sure, the game i bought was Injustice for the WiiU, its got a different case as well that i didnt think we had in the UK, the recycled case with the holes in it which i though was only in the states, i checked the disk to make sure it said PAL on it.

I think you can get a refund/return if you'd like. I don't know why that would have happened, but I sure wouldn't be happy about it myself!!

I'd return it asap. It's supposed to be a new product, not "like new"

It still happens. It's happened to me twice with games I pre-ordered, both of which I picked up on day one. So, my question is: If they only ( usually ) open a couple of games so they have boxes to display on the shelf, WTF happened to my reserved copies, which were never meant for the shelf? Idiots!

On topic: You def did not get a new game. If it works, is in good condition, and it doesn't bother you, just swallow this one.
