I actually have one, i guess i have to keep it since Blizz doesnt like console gamers anymore

Because the series has been strong on PC and started there.

Have you seen the Korean tounreys over the past decade or two?, they are vastly popular on PC and it's exactly why they are aiming this remaster at them.

You have Diablo III and Overwatch on consoles, the others on PC, where their market is.

Really thats an excuse to leave players out?

Also Tropico 5 sold 350k Physical units on PS4 and ony 1.1 million units total for PC

30%+ of sales were on PS4, thats a large user base to be ignored

Yes, because they are clearly aiming for the Korean market that has since two decades ago, celebrated the original game via tournaments and championships. I don't see console folk being that dedicated for all those years, not enough to get Blizzard to notice.

RTS games are the mainstay on PC, like MMO's and Mobas would be, same with FPS.

I'm well aware that you have a new Tropico game coming, but you're also lacking all the other tropico's, SIm Cities, C&C's, Warcrafts, Star Crafts, Supreme Commanders, Red Alerts, Age of Empires, Sins of a Singularity etc at the same time.

I like how you put it at 350k for PS4 and only 1.1 for PC as if that's somehow worse than 350k. I like your spin on that.

End of the day RTS market is on PC mate, just like how the main market for SCI remaster will be on PC and in Korea, talk of sales all you want, but you're still missing out on a large vast roster of other RTS titles, titles made for M+K.

Also using VGC as a sales source ins't very wise either.

Even then Diablo 3 obliterated the console sales... Even when you combine the Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4 sales all combined, the PC still comes out on top.

PC games have much longer legs though.

In a few years, during a sale, Tropico will be hitting the top of the sales charts and shifting a crap ton more units, whilst on console it would have fallen into obscurity.

You aren't wrong though, the Playstation 4 is a chunky piece of player base, but the PC is a market where you look at long-term trends.

EA hasn't taken the huge hint yet

That's the thing some fail to notice is that over time, sales on PC end up forming a long tail end of sales, while console still rolls with short term burst sales that can look rgeat at the start, but taper shortly afterwards. That and the the two platforms have different markets dedicated to different games. PC just happens to have more dedicated RTS players than consoles do. We are still able to play the old C&C games to this day thanks to open Red Alert and C&C online client (hooking the older games to private servers). On consoles that isn't a thing at all, all the dedication and mp hosted games are offline and gone.

And thats why the genere is death now, and Starcarft remastered will fail too. Koreans have moved on to mobile gaming etc. Starcarft remastered wont do a difference as Starcarft 2 was pretty much like SC1 and they didnt cared. It shows you also Blizzards greedy mentallity, instead remastering Warcraft 3 that actually needs a face lift in visuals, they care more about the korean market, because they have the western market in their pockets but not the korean market anymore. Starcraft fans allready got SC2.

350k is impressive for a 60 million user base for such a game, compre that to the billions of PC outtheres.

The genre isn't dead, it just doesn't have many of the typical AAA pubs investing their money into making more AAA games in that market, yet other devs are still making games for the genre, like how hardly many cared for indie games over the years until they were suddenly important and popular again.

Remaster won't fail because Koreans are still playing Brood war to this very day. SCII put that market off with Blizzard constantly flip flopping changes back and forth as well as splitting the game into 3 parts, something which the Koreans were not a fan of (same with the West). Also all Koreans have not moved on entirely towards mobile gaming. You have some playing SCI as well as LoL for two examples, Japan is the country that's moved the most into mobile gaming as well as China (CHina is also pining a lot for Steam releases in their region, which tells you a lot).

SCII wasn't entirely the same as SCI as there were new additions to II that were not in I and changes made in II that were not in SCI.

I don't see how it's BLizz being greedy when they in neglected that market since 2010 with how SCII was geared more towards a slightly different market at the time. What People liked of SCII, Koreans were eventually put off from what came with it. It's not greedy for Blizz wanting to go back to that market after 7 long years, they even dedicated the latest remaster trailer to their region rather than a typical Western like ad, they fit Western folk into the advert but it was made very clear that the remaster was to be aimed at Korean players as much as it is for the West.

Blizz has actually been looking to hire folk to help with a remaster of D2, W3 and SCI (which we are seeing become a reality):

https://www.polygon.com/2015/11/4/9670900/blizzard-starcraft-warcraft-3-diablo-2-modern-operating-systems

There isn't any kind of rule that dictates SC fans being allowed one game and then nothing for years and years. people have been asking for a remake/remaster for years and it's only happening now. I'm more excited at the prospect of seeing a remake/remaster of W1-3 than I am for SCI.

350k isn't all that impressive compared to the 1.1 on PC, just like how you'd say that whatever Japanese game sales on PC aren't impressive compared to PS4., it works here in the case for Tropico as well.
