There was a huge numbers delay during the 2015 holidays and ever since numbers don't get updated as much as they used to. On the bright side they tend to be more accurate. Although the PS4 has been severely  undertracked the last couple of months. Anyway I believe VGchartz is understaffed and we (the community) used to bitch about the accuracy of the numbers a bit too much, so we broke the sole purpose of this site (especially with digital taking larger shares in console software sales) and now this site pretty much relies on the community and threads.

That's sad, man. Why doesn't he just pass the duty on to someone that cares then? This could be the greatest gaming site ever with better updating.

June the 11th we got told the PS4 was over 60,4m units.

I wouldnt be surprised it takes atleast a week, to collect numbers from differnt places world wide.

So a week into June PS4 should be at 60,4m on VGCs.

The problem is..... what about the Switch and the XB1?

 

Also we know that like 3 week(s) update's from VGC should give a +1.8m result, so the 58.6m -> 60,4m in time.

But the last global week nrs had PS4 at 270k.

So theres some undertracking to figoured out as well.

Yes, slight under tracking is likely. Under tracked or not, if he just made more effort, I would very much appreciate it.

back in the day...i used to remember why vgchartz had new numbers almost every week. at the most 2 weeks out...hence the name on the page "weekly charts"

Now it seems like the guys they have getting the numbers have just turned into moderators...LMAO

Personally, I don't care if the numbers are slightly off. A close estimate is preferable over 2 month delays.

He has actually. Software got passed over awhile ago. Hardware was pretty recent, so the guy not being used to doing it could be part of the reason it's been slow too. IIRC there's still some stuff that only ioi (the site owner) can do though, so they still need to wait on him at times.

If the very owner doesn't care, we are screwed. :(
