Forums - Sales - Xbox 360 On The Skids Retailers Consider Dumping It (Australia)

Seriously, I don't see this happening. Like dsoverpsp said "While the GC was doing bad, nobody dropped the machine"
It just doesn't seem like the kind of thing that is going to happen.

This is Australia we're talking about. Retailers started dropping the GC about 2 years into its life down here.

As for the 360, I seriously doubt it. It's not doing as well as the others, but it's not doing terribly either.

Did they really? I never heard about that.

in australia they did drop the GC in a lot of store chains, places like EB, target and big W ended up having very small sections in comparison to other consoles but most big electrical stores droped it all together so if the x box has slowed down in its sales then it wouldnt suprise me if they give it a similar treatment.

AFL as in Arena Football League?

LOL, no, think a faster version of rugby were there a 4 posts on each side of the field, kick the ball through the middle 2=6 points or a goal, kick it through the outer 2 =1 point also known as a "behind, and there is no padding or whatever the nfl has either......... for more go to www.afl.com.au becuase this was a real basic explanation.

AFL is Australian Football League lol its played on a giant field called an oval. Its not as big in the northern states but its really huge in the southern states. My Grandpa used to play in it so my family were big supporters. The NRL plays a bigger role in sports up in the northern states

I've always though football (or "soccer" as americans like to call it) would rock with 4 goals.

Given 360 games still regularly make the top ten charts, and have the largest sections in most retailers I visit (the PS2 not withstanding), I'm going to lean towards this article being false.

It just wouldn't make much sense with the 360's install base being at least 40% bigger than the PS3's.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

just out of curiosity, does any one know if there is a higher injury rate for players in the AFL and NRL in comparison to the softer american padded football?

starcraft do you know anything about the GC games attach rate in Australia? cos I heard world wide it was bigger then the original x box even though it beat the GC by a million or so console sales. (this doesnt include pirated games of course) The gc had an attach rate of like 7 or something compared to xbox 5 or something along thoes lines (any one feel free to corect me with suporting evidence because i'm just going of a memory). If the GC attach rate was the same or higher then the original x box in AU, and they stoped suporting the GC early in its life, then it would make sence that even though the xbox 360 has a big install base, suport for it might slow down if the industry shows for the long run ps3 and wii will out do it in sales revenue. (in Australia)

If the x box totaly out did GC in games sales in Australia then its understandable why they stoped supporting GC and I agree there would be no reason for dropping the 360
