Oh I just heard it again, actually he says "collecting hidden stuff". Not that that would change anything about your post, except that he didn't say it's the main point of the game.

Pachter is just funny... I especially love it when he uses anedoctal evidence to justify his predictions, like in the previous part. I actually like listening to the guy, even though he's quite idiotic.

Actually you're kind of making an assumption about what he says. The title is intentionally leaving something out so folks will watch the video. If you do actually watch the video he says that GTA has a little bit of a lot of great games and uses pokemon more as an extreme example because of the packages you have to collect etc..

I'm not a pachter fan by any means, but this one wasn't so bad if you listen to the quote.

Edit: I still think its a hilarious quote, and I half think he does this stuff for the publicity.

What you based the assumption on doesn't really matter, if you want to beat him over the head for the comment then at least watch the video.  Otherwise you really don't know what was said.
