You have a wrong perception of Mega Man. Calling it a dying franchise when it had had so many new games, including several sub-series, from the '90s onwards doesn't make sense. Yes, its peak point for an individual installment was in the late '80s, but it kept selling in perfectly sufficient numbers for many more years. Mega Man ended with the management decisions to try mobile and the ill-fated and cancelled Mega Man Universe which was supposed to bank on usergenerated content, because they didn't want to fund anything more demanding than Mega Man 9 and 10 when it came to proper Mega Man experiences.

The end of Mega Man was in 2011 or so. That might not seem like "present times", but when the previous timeframe of reference was the SNES era, then I consider it appropriate because it still makes sense in context.

But to say that the end of Mega Man was in 2011 is ridiculous. By Mega Man 9 in 2008, it was relegated to being a digital only franchise.

In reality, Mega Man died in the 6th gen after a brief resurgence with the Gameboy Advance, in the sense that it had become completely irrelevant saleswise. At this time, Monster Hunter and DmC were also new franchises.

Megaman was huge back in the day, even during the late SNES / early PSX days. And yes, my point is that Capcom treats their franchises poorly, most of the times it's blatant mismanagement that causes their games to bomb.

I forgot about Marvel vs Capcom however, New Age of Heroes was amazing. But the new game looks horrible as well...

Around the Network

A lot of japanese companies are mismanaged to to point of being flat-out uncompetitive. It's part of a toxic corporate culture which dates to the 70s and 80s. I guess this is why an awful lot of their companies struggle nowadays to compete with American and Korean companies, except those who succeed by their sheer industrial might like Toyota or Mitsubishi.

I'm a huge fan of Capcom games (...)

However, Capcom is rapidly drifting away from me, and I'm certainly not alone in this. In present times, most Capcom games have been slowly and painfully murdered by Capcom itself. (...)

I want good horror-games like "Clock Tower 3" and "Haunting Ground" by Capcom. Or new Onimusha-Games *-*

the good thing is: Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 release is august for PS4 and i think, a new "Devil May Cry (5)"-Game maybe on the Tokyo Games Show or PlayStation Experience-Event this year.

Marvel vs Capcom-Game, a Dragons Dogma-Remaster and Monster Hunter World coming for PS4. And maybe someday.. "Deep Down" xD

If you're a big capcom fan the ps4 is super appealing. They have great support for it.

And I don't think capcom are in deep financial trouble. "For the full fiscal year, Capcom net sales were more than ¥‎87 billion ($783 million USD), which is up 13.2% year-over-year."

Yes, thats right :)

Well there's Ace Attorney.

Monster Hunter World looks great and will sell well. Don't sweat it.

It would be good to see Ace Attorney release on the ps4.
