Forums - Gaming - Capcom focused on Monster Hunter: World for West, won't commit to MH:XX localization

They will. 100% they will. The install base of the Switch will be big enough to atract them, specially because there are no good 3rd party games in it, so, the ratio of purchase will be VERY high. I am thinking 30-40% of the install base in the west.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

ive never played a monster hunter ever but im looking forward to monster hunter world. weird why it wont come to the switch because the game doesn't look like pushing the boundaries of what the ps4 can do.

lol, how stupid. This is the time when you should be focused on new hardware not aging hardware capcom.

So, when he says that they have nothing to announce for Switch, is just just referring to World? Or Western releases in general? I assumed that he just meant World.

He is talking about Monster Hunter XX in response to the question of its localisation. He also says nothing to announce currently, with "currently" being a key word in PR speech.

He also seems to be only a community manager.

OK. I thought he was referring to a Switch port of World.

Don't worry, friends. Monster Hunter World XX Triple-Z will come to Switch in a year.

They will lose. If they refuse to expand on Switch, they will lose.

if monster hunter world fails, they can just port it to the switch and sell millions

Even if this is true.... It's region free :P

Yeah but then it's only in Japanese right? No English or English subtitles? Or am I wrong?

Nintendo often publishes Capcom's games for their systems outside of Japan.... so who knows maybe Nintendo will be the ones who announce it in a bit... Graphically it didn't really look insane in the trailer (Monster Hunter World) so I don't see why the Switch would be out of the question...

bear in mind Nintendo actually announced TWO games exclusively in the Tree House demos today (Mario + Luigi remake and Metroid II remake) so it's possible (and somewhat likely) that they announce something else in the next few days of Treehouse (I think E3's last day is Thursday)

if Capcom refuses to release Monster Hunter games on Nintendo systems in the West that'll just be silly, they have a strong fanbase there on Nintendo systems, even if it's not near the levels of the Japanese fanbase (which nothing will match regardless of platform)

yeah, based on the trailer M Hunter World does not look that particularly fancy in terms of graphics. Certainly less impressive than Breath of the Wild and it will likely be a far more contained world. Hell I wouldn't be shocked if Skyrim Remastered looks better than M Hunter World, Capcom is not really known for their insane visuals
