They're releasing an expensive console this year, the most powerful console ever.

Clearly exiting console business, no fight left confirmed.

LOL

Look at the E3 software output though, from that gif I linked.

It shows a trend, every E3 has less and less from them.

Meanwhile its the other way around for Playstation.

3 main exclusives for this year.

Crackdown - Looks downgraded to an indie or AA title.

Sea of thieves - doesn't look AAA

Yet another Forza - annual franchise

There is no doubt that this is the worst year ever for Xbox. Now is it over?  Have MS given up?

I think this gen yes and they've just decided as evidenced by the super high scorpio price to stop hemorrhaging money this gen.

They might make a final stand with the launch of next gen in a few years. One last effort of a comeback. So maybe they're holding all the big investments until then.

Microsoft hasn't given up. Microsoft knows what they are doing. Microsoft just needs to be more consumer oriented and less corporate oriented. That's the nicest way I can put it right now.

You clearly dont understand the purpose the Scorpio. Its a barrier to keep fans and 3rd party developers from completely abandoning XBOX. Not to show commitment.

Microsoft has the resources to do what they want. It wouldn't surprise me if they're simply giving up for now so that they can make another attack in the future. That's what they did with the original Xbox. We also know that you can't predict a generation based only on the preceding generation.

It's also still somewhat surprising how well the Xbox brand is regarded in North America. At work, all I hear about is Xbox. The people who mainly play games like FIFA, Madden, and CoD like it just as much now as they did last gen.

Relative to Spencer himself, I don't think he's behind much of the downscaling we're witnessing now. I think that's coming from above his pay-grade.

Microsoft should just make games for pc and be done with the xbox brand and they will be fine. Hell they can give pc the exclusives they deserve.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

This back and forth effort is what killed Windows Phone and what is hampering Xbox. They could have a much larger market share if they'd learn to commit.

They just had one of they're best E3s ever, games games games.

Sorry nvm true exclusives are the only real games that matter

Yeah 2017 looks awful, 3 games for the whole year on Xbox one smh. MS dun goofed.

Pointless sarcasm if you ask me.....

While i don't agree that ms is giving up.... You can't possibly dispute that the exclusive output is pathetic.

Cause that comment you made about true exclusives? It's to suggest that we are saying MS doesn't have any multiplats.  Whereas what we are saying is that in addition to all those multiplats. You know? Games u can play on either platform. Sony not only has more exclusives but their yearly exclusive output obviously (as the pics show) isn't steadily dwindling.

Yes, because clearly people are abandoning it and the console misses so many third party games, lol.

Ori and The Will of the Wisps.

I don't need more.
